Have a bath

Menstrual hygiene is an important aspect of your periods. Poor hygiene habits lead to infections like RTI (reproductive tract infection) and UTI (urinary tract infection). A warm bath, twice a day during those 5 days, is necessary to maintain intimate hygiene and feel fresh.

Wash your hands

Don't forget to wash your hands with soap every time you change your sanitary pad.

Choose the right pad

Choose a pad that best fits your body and your period to prevent period leaks and pad slippage.

Change your pad every 4-6 hours

Changing the pad every few hours is important to feel dry and avoid unpleasant odour. Pads should be changed even when the menstrual flow is not heavy. A damp sanitary napkin can cause inflammation, rashes and even infections. If you experience itching, rashes or any other symptoms, consult a doctor for a proper treatment.

Talk about your period

Period Talk should not be embarrassing. If you notice anything abnormal or have queries regarding your period, don't hesitate to talk to your Mom or your friends. It's perfectly okay to discuss rather than suffer.

Proper disposal of sanitary napkins is a must

Sanitary pads should not be flushed down the toilet, since they can clog the drainage system. Always wrap the pad with waste paper or newspaper before putting it in a garbage bin.
